SS141 CLASS D & CLASS E PIPES
The Singapore Standard (SS) Council has specified that SS141 pipes are to be made of unplasticised polyvinyl chloride that is for use in cold water services up to 25 degree Celsius, intended for human consumption and for general purposes. It is also meant for the conveyance of water up to 45 degrees Celcius.
SS141 Class D & E standards of pipes are different in wall thickness. Class D has a working pressure of 12 bars and Class E, 15 bars.
These pipes are mostly used for cold water irrigation piping and home and building supply piping. SS141 Class D & E pipes are also very commonly used in swimming pools as they have higher pressure tolerance.
This range of pipes is also ideal for hydroponics as its white colour is more aesthetically appealing and it does not contain materials or additives that may adversely affect the quality of drinking water.
Class D & E pipes are approved by and widely used by Public Utilities Board as water supply pipes in Singapore.
These pipes come in 5.8m length, in white.
SS213 PIPES
SS213 pipes are more commonly known as sanitary pipes, used for soil, waste and vent purposes in households and HDB/residential building projects.
It comes complete with its own range of fittings and accessories.
SS213 pipes are white and is not suitable for pressured uses. It can be used for discharge purposes above ground.
The durability, non-corrosive and flame-retardant nature makes PVC ideal for these uses.
